A delight in design in the heart of Paris at Saint Sauveur street, Paris 2nd. This 55 square meter, 1-bedroom apartment (plus mezzanine) is located in the 2nd arrondissement, on the 3rd French floor of a 18th century building with no lift. It sleeps 4 and up to 6 people.

Living/Dining room :

As the door opens to this chic Parisian apartment, the eye is automatically drawn up to the 3-meter high ceilings, complementing a 39-square-meter open room. This combination of high ceilings and open space, make for a lofty, airy living/dining area. Four, two and half meter-high, wide windows line this room and flood it with natural sunlight throughout the day. These windows are double-paned to keep out the little noise coming from the pedestrian street below, for a calm atmosphere and a good night?s sleep.

Stripped down to the essentials for the latest in chic Parisian design, this apartment has white walls and uses its 18th-century brute materials as natural decoration, with an open-rock wall, and original beams in the ceiling, dating from the time of construction and where the signature of the 18th-century carpenter can still be seen. The light hardwood floors are new, but only add to a harmonious ensemble.

The 20th century eclectic mix of design furniture complements the space, with a new, big stuffed hide-a-bed sofa, a 1960?s low buffet, stainless steel, upholstered design chairs, a glass coffee table, a granite and stainless steel dining table with four grey 1950?s snake-skin chairs, a large armoir with plenty of room and mirrored doors that further the feeling of space and light, and even a lemon-tree wood piano. Everything is tied together in harmonious colors and light wood. Even the dishes were chosen to add to the harmony of the room, and make for a lovely dinner party. This room is also equipped with a plasma television and VCR as well as fast-internet hook-up.

Kitchen :

The 3-square-meter American kitchen, with a high, light hard-wood bar is open to the living/dining area, so as not to take away from the feeling of space. The kitchen is functional, with a micro-wave oven, refrigerator, coffee-maker, two design hot-plates and a washing machine.

Bathroom :

The 4-square-meter bathroom is functional and harmonious, with an American-size bathtub to relax after a day of sight-seeing. It is entirely in white tile with a design sink, and is equipped with a tumble dryer.

Bedroom :

This cozy 9-square-meter bedroom has the same open-rock wall and hard-wood floors as the living/dining area and is painted in reposing beige. Not a square centimeter has been spared to make this room practical and comfortable, with a small desk built into the wall and a square-hole design bookcase for further storage. A small window allows light and air, and gives onto a perfectly silent, charming courtyard.

Mezzanine :

This 13-square-meter crawl space above the bedroom and bathroom, is accessed by an antique ladder and has been rendered useful with a nice coco floor covering, a brute material in sink with the rest of the apartment and once again the open-rock wall, as well as two thick single mattresses. The Area :

The tourist or businessman would have trouble finding a more hip, central area in Paris for their stay. The rue Saint Sauveur (Saint Savior) is a pedestrian street with limited traffic therefore. The first step out the door discloses a charming area composed of 17th and 18th century buildings, a sort of 17th/18th-century village. A minute away by foot reveals the bustling rue de Montorgeuil, the most fashionable and trendy market street in Paris, with everything the gourmet cook wants to find, as well as numerous hip, typical Parisian caf?s, a favorite for people-watchers. Antique and specialty-shop lovers will enjoy the ?passage du grand cerf?, a sort of 19th century ?mall?, or covered street/shopping area popular at the end of last century.The apartment is on a pedestrian area, there is a parking at 10min walking distance, but the client will have to pay at the parking office. In Paris to park a car is really difficult and this is the best way to be safe.

The businessman finds himself just a few minute?s walk to the RER direct to La D?fense, and the tourist is simply in the heart of historical Paris, with major monuments in all directions.
